When I think of silence--I think of a lot of empty or negative space, hence the sparse text and lots of space.

I did not use any textures for this poster, which is different for me because I love textures in my work. It seems the texture thing is often over-done in posters and graphic materials for these type of movies. You do not need blood, splatters, blood splatters, or any kind of crazy textures, to make something scary.

The subtle, purplish color scheme, along with the poster's simplicity, really set this apart from the other posters. You're right: it doesn't have to be textured or gory to be scary. Although I've submitted one of my own, I hope this wins.

Thanks! What really grabbed me was the first few seconds of the trailer where it is going through the hallway with the curtains blowing--I didn't have any images that I've taken of curtains blowing in the wind, but it was enough to inspire me to do this.
